BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Joel Brown scored 21 factors, freshman Grant Newell had his first double-double and California cruised to an 80-76 victory over Colorado on Saturday.
Brown made 9 of 14 3-pointers for the Golden Bears (2-13, 1-3 Pac-12). Newell completed with 13 factors and 12 rebounds. Lars Thiemann scored 12 factors, Kuani Kuani 11 and DeJuan Clayton 10 with three assists.
Thiemann scored all of his factors within the first half, hitting 4 of 6 pictures from the ground and all 4 of his free throws to guide the Golden Bears to a 39-27 halftime benefit.
