Two drivers have been arrested at a DUI checkpoint in Chula Vista, one on suspicion of driving underneath the affect of an unlawful drug and the opposite on suspicion of driving inebriated and an unlawful drug, police stated Saturday.
The checkpoint, led by the Chula Vista Police Division, was held between 6 p.m. and midnight Friday within the 300 block of East H Avenue, Sgt. Anthony Molina stated:
Of the three,664 autos passing by the checkpoint, 952 have been inspected, stated the sergeant. 9 drivers got area sobriety assessments, 11 have been issued with unlicensed or suspended licenses. Eight autos have been detained, and 5 extra have been cited moreover.
The division’s subsequent DUI checkpoint was scheduled for February.
