Ghanshyam Das Birla’s 28th death anniversary is being celebrated today, know his history

New Delhi: 28th death anniversary of Ghanshyam Das Birla, who made his mark as the father of industrial revolution in the country, is being celebrated today. Ghanshyam Das Birla, known as GD Babu, was born on 10 April 1894 in Pilani, Rajasthan. GD Babu, who strengthened the country from the economic field during the British rule, died on this day on 11 June 1983.

Ghanshyam Das Birla is one of the largest industrial group B. K. K. M. Birla was the founder of the group. Whose assets today are more than 195 billion rupees. Ghanshyam Das Birla had indirectly contributed a lot in the freedom struggle. He was a freedom fighter as well as an influential member of the Birla family. He is also recognized as a friend, advisor, admirer of Mahatma Gandhi. Ghanshyam Das Birla was honored with the title of Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India in the year 1957.
